Coach Onboarding Steps

Steps for Lincoln Youth Coaches

1. Register here (only needed first time with Lincoln)

2. Run a PPS Background check here and send file to: youth@lincolnlacrosse.club

  • 3 minutes
  • Certification is valid for three years
  • Confirmation email will say this in subject: "Volunteer Application Approved"

3. Go through Concussion training here (you will need to create a free account if you don't have one already. Once ready click "add order" top right of screen and then checkout)

  • About 20 minutes
  • Required each year

4. Run a USA Lacrosse background check by logging into their website with your email (and if you don't have a password ask to reset) login here.

  • 3 minutes
  • Good for two years

If you are not in the system it is likely because we did not enter your name/email when paying for your coach membership - ping youth@lincolnlacrosse.club and we'll get this figured out.

For parents that have kids with USA lacrosse numbers there may be an issue logging in, call this number to straighten this out: 410-235-6882 x 102 (530AM to 2PM PST). If you have additional issues please email our rep Lyn Porterfield: lporterfield@usalacrosse.com

  1. Go to My Account > Scroll down to Background Check half way down the site

Complete USA Lacrosse "Abuse Prevention Systems Training" - the link is below the Background Check section in your Main Account Page and will launch you to a new part of the site.

  1. You will likely need to search for "Abuse Prevention Systems" in the top search bar

 

PPS Background Check and Volunteer Training

All coaches must complete the required PPS Volunteer training and Background check

Oregon Online Steroid Training and Assessment

All coaches must complete the OSTA training and assessment prior to beginning coaching for Lincoln Lacrosse

NFHS Concussions In Sports Class (CSC)

Required course for all Lincoln coaches and this course fulfills the OSAA concussion requirements as called out in the Oregon State statute on concussion management.

US Lacrosse Coaching Resources

US Lacrosse Membership

The Lincoln Lacrosse Club will pay for US Lacrosse Coaching memberships for all active Paid coaches.  Coach memberships are $55 -- includes an NCSI background check (good for two years) plus SafeSport training.  Both of these are mandatory for coach members and must be completed within 10 days of your join/renew (unless  renewing and have a current NCSI background screening.)

For coaches that have been coaching for more than 1 year, the Lincoln Lacrosse Club may also pay for additional coaching development courses as budget allows.  If you are a Volunteer coach, and would like to participate in more of the coach development programs, please contact Will Harris.

IRS W-9: For Paid Coaches

Coaches paid by the Lincoln Lacrosse Club must have a valid W-9 on file to receive payment for services
